UPS uninterruptible power supply maintenance

This article mainly introduces the safety instructions, installation precautions, and maintenance of UPS uninterruptible power supply.

First, the safety instructions

  • Even if the UPS is not connected to the mainssupply, its power output socket still has 220V.
  • In order to reduce the risk of electric shock caused by poor grounding of the load equipment, the AC input power should be disconnected when installing the computer interface signal cable. Only after all the signal connectors are connected can the power supply be connected.
  • Connecting the UPS to an AC input power source with a ground wire must have an appropriate bypass protector (circuit breaker). If it is connected to any other type of socket, it may cause electric shock.
  • If the charging cable or power cord needs to be replaced, please purchase raw materials from our service station or dealer to avoid heat or fire caused by insufficient capacity.
  • Do not use the fire to dispose of the battery or battery pack, otherwise it will explode and injure people.
  • Do not open or damage the battery. The overflowing electrolyte is highly toxic and harmful to health.
  • Please avoid short circuit between the positive and negative terminals of the battery, otherwise it will cause electric shock or fire.
  • Do not open the UPS case by yourself on account ofa risk of electric shock.
  • Do not touch the battery connection terminals. The battery circuit is not isolated from the input voltage loop and there is a risk of high voltage between the battery terminals and the ground.
  • It is not advisable to connect electrical equipment such as hair dryers and electric heaters to ensure the safety of the machine.

【Note】

☆ There is high pressure in the UPS. To avoid personal injury, please consult the dealer professional if you have any questions.

☆ Do not attempt to repair the UPS that does not contain any parts that the user may maintain. This UPS contains potentially dangerous voltage, so repair can only be carried out by qualified service personnel trained by the factory. If the user repairs or modifies the product, the warranty will be cancelled.

Second, the installation notes

  • The area where the UPS is placed should be well ventilated, away from water, flammable gases and corrosives.
  • It should not be measured and placed. You should keep the air inlet hole at the lower end of the front panel, the air outlet of the rear cover fan and the air inlet hole on the side of the cabinet.
  • The ambient temperature of the UPS should be kept between 0 °C and 40 °C.
  • If the machine is disassembled and used at low temperatures, there may be condensation of water droplets. Be sure to wait until the inside and outside of the machine are completely dry before installing or using it. Otherwise, there is a danger of electric shock.
  • Please put the UPS near the mains input socket so that the mains input plug can be unplugged in case of emergency and the power supply can be cut off.

【Note】

☆ When the load is connected to the UPS, the load must be closed before wiring, and then turned on one by one.

☆ Connect the UPS to a dedicated outlet with overcurrent protection.

☆ The power socket used should be connected to the protective ground.

☆ Regardless of whether the input power cord is plugged into the mains socket, the UPS output may be energized. Turning off the UPS does not guarantee that the internal components are not charged. If you want to make the UPS no output, you must first turn off the switch and then cancel the mains supply.

☆ When an inductive load such as a motor, monitor, or laser printer is required, on account of too large operating power, the UPS is selected. The capacity is calculated by the starting power which is generally twice the rated power.

☆ If you connect the generator, you need to follow the steps below:

Start the generator until its operation is stable, then connect the generator's output power to the UPS, input (this time to determine the UPS is no-load), then start the UPS according to the boot procedure, after the UPS starts, connect the load one by one (suggestion: select the generator capacity with twice the capacity of the UPS).

Third, maintenance

  • The battery of the standard model is valve-regulated, low-maintenance type, and only needs to be constantly charged to obtain the desired life. When the UPS is connected to the mains, it always charges the battery regardless of whether it is turned on or off, and provides overcharge and overdischarge protection.
  • If you do not use the UPS for a long time, it is recommended to charge it every four to six months.
  • Under normal circumstances, the battery life is three to five years. If it is in poor condition, it must be replaced in advance. Replacing the batteryshould be performed by a specialist.
  • The battery should not be replaced individually. Whole replacementshould follow the instructions of the battery supplier.
  • When normal, the battery is charged and discharged once every four to six months, and discharged afterdischarginguntil shutdown, and the standard machine charging time should not be less than 12 hours.
  • In high temperature areas, the battery is charged and discharged once every two months, and the standard machine should be charged no less than 12 hours each time.

【Note】

☆ Before replacing the battery, the UPS must be turned off and disconnected from the mains.

☆ Take off metal items such as rings and watches.

☆ Use a screwdriver with an insulated handle. Do not place tools or other metal objects on the battery.

☆ When connecting the battery cable, it is normal for the small spark to appear at the joint, which will not be harmful to safety and UPS.

☆ Never short or reverse connection the battery positive and negative
